KORECH

Approaching the time of the festive meal, a sandwich is made from a small piece of matzo along with the remaining maror and chazeret - grated horseradish.

On this occasion, they do not recite a special blessing, but they say memorable words about the sage Hillel: “This is a remembrance of Hillel in Temple times—This is what Hillel did when the Temple existed: He enwrapped the Paschal lamb, the matzo and the bitter herbs to eat them as one, in fulfillment of the verse, "with matzot and maror they shall eat it.”

The sandwich is then dipped in charoset and eaten up.
